Bahi makes GST invoices for small Indian businesses, freelancers and shopkeepers. Enter your business once, keep a list of customers and items, and produce a correct, professional invoice as a PDF in under a minute, with CGST and SGST or IGST worked out for you. Everything stays on your PC: no account, no subscription, no internet needed.

It is a tool for preparing invoices and the registers that go with them. It is not tax advice: you are responsible for the correctness of your tax treatment.

Invoices in under a minute

Pick or type a customer, add lines by typing a few letters of an item, tab through quantity, price and discount. Totals and the tax split update as you type.
The place of supply comes from the customer's state and decides CGST + SGST or IGST by itself. You can change it, with the reason kept on the document.
Tax-exclusive or tax-inclusive prices, line and whole-invoice discounts taken before tax, items at different rates on one invoice, exempt and nil-rated items, cess, reverse charge, shipping charges taxed properly.
Amount in words in the Indian system: lakh, crore and paise.
GSTINs are checked as you type, including the check character.

Numbers and records you can rely on

All arithmetic is exact decimal, rounded to the paisa in one documented way. The screen, the PDF and every report show the same stored figures.
Numbers are consecutive per kind of document per financial year (April to March), in a format you choose, checked against the 16-character rule. No gaps, no reuse.
A finalised invoice is locked. It can be cancelled (it stays in the register with its number) or corrected by a credit or debit note, never silently changed. Every step is in a log.

How invoices look

Clean A4 and A5 layouts in three styles, with your logo, colour and signature, a tax summary by rate and by HSN/SAC, bank details and an optional UPI QR code for the invoice amount.
"Original for recipient / Duplicate for transporter / Triplicate for supplier" copies.
PDFs with searchable text and embedded fonts. Print directly, or open your own mail program with the PDF attached. Bahi itself sends nothing.

Payments and dues

Record full or part payments; invoices show unpaid, part-paid, paid or overdue.
Customer statements, and an outstanding list aged 0-30, 31-60, 61-90 and over 90 days.

Reports for you and your accountant

Sales register with every tax head, marked B2B or B2C and intra-state or inter-state; the same by rate.
HSN/SAC summary, tax rate summary, credit and debit note register, document number summary with cancelled numbers.
Sales by month, by customer and by item. Every report exports to Excel and PDF.

Your data is yours

Automatic daily backup to a folder you choose, a rolling set kept, one-click backup and restore, and a reminder if a week passes without one.
Export everything to Excel, and every document as a PDF, at any time.
Optional password to open the app. Crash-safe saving and a check of the data file at every start.
Tax rates, cess, state codes and thresholds are tables you can edit, each with the date it applies from, so a rate change is a settings edit and not a new version.

Good to know

Not part of this version: e-invoices (an IRN and signed QR code from the government portal), e-way bills and filing returns. If your business is required to issue e-invoices, a PDF from Bahi alone does not meet that requirement. Also not included: exports and SEZ supplies, stock control, purchases, barcode billing and thermal receipts.
Free to try for 14 days with everything working and no watermark on anything. After that, without a licence, Bahi becomes read-only: you can still open, search, print and export every document, run and export every report, and back up, restore and export everything. Creating and finalising documents, recording payments and editing customers and items need a licence. You are never locked out of your own records, and this holds with no internet connection.
English only for now.
It installs for your user account only and never asks for administrator rights.
